It’s starting to finally warm up where I live which I’m super excited about. The winter was pretty brutal and the temperature dipped below 10 degrees on some days. Spring is one of my favorite seasons because of the beautiful weather, and summer is approaching as well.

One of my favorite breakfasts to make during the spring/summer are smoothie bowls because they’re super refreshing and are the perfect breakfast to make on a warm spring or summer day. I don’t make smoothies and smoothie bowls too often during the wintertime because it’s so cold outside already, but during the spring and summer it’s a different story.

If you’ve checked out some of my other recipes you probably noticed that I have a few other recipes for making smoothies on my blog: strawberry banana smoothie, mango banana smoothie, and blueberry banana smoothie bowl. Feel free to check those out as well.

But for now, I want to talk about this delicious raspberry sorbet smoothie bowl that I made the other day for breakfast. I had never actually eaten a raspberry smoothie bowl prior to making this, but I wanted to try it out because raspberries are my all-time favorite fruit. Thus, I thought why not try making a smoothie bowl out of my favorite fruit?

This smoothie bowl was so refreshing and turned out super yummy. I topped it with all of my favorite toppings for some additional nutrients including chia seeds, pumpkin seeds, creamy peanut butter, and a few more raspberries. The great thing about smoothie bowls is that you can mix and match toppings so you’ll never get tired of them.

Ingredients you’ll need:

1. Frozen Banana

The first ingredient you’ll need to make this delicious raspberry sorbet smoothie bowl is frozen banana. I like to buy a large batch of bananas and freeze half of them for smoothie bowls. You could use a banana that isn’t frozen, however, if you do, you’ll need to add ice to make it thicker.

2. Raspberries

The next ingredient you’ll need are raspberries. Raspberries are super sweet and tasty. I used fresh raspberries because I didn’t have frozen. Again, you can use frozen raspberries, but you may need to add additional almond milk to make the smoothie bowl have a better consistency.

3. Chia Seeds

Next, you’ll need chia seeds. I added 1/2 tsp of chia seeds in my smoothie bowl for some additional nutrients.

4. Almond Milk

You’ll also need almond milk, or a plant-based milk alternative. I used unsweetened vanilla almond milk, but you can also use soy milk, silk milk, or oat milk. I’ve found that oat milk is a bit sweeter, but it’s completely up to you! Almond milk makes the smoothie bowl creamy and is used as the liquid base for this recipe.

Optional Toppings:

1. Pumpkin Seeds

I added pumpkin seeds on top because I personally really like pumpkin seeds. They’re my go-to staple for smoothie bowls because they’re both crunchy and tasty.

2. Chia Seeds

I also added some additional chia seeds on top of my smoothie bowl because they’re packed full of nutrients. It’s easy to sprinkle a handful of chia seeds in smoothies, so I often add it to all of my smoothies and smoothie bowls.

3. Raspberries

I then added some more raspberries on top because they’re my favorite fruit. You could also add banana slices or a different fruit on top if you don’t want to add more raspberries.

4. Creamy Peanut Butter

I also added a scoop of creamy natural peanut butter for some protein. Some of my favorite creamy natural peanut butters are Krema and Smucker’s because they only contain peanuts and salt. They don’t have any added oils or sugar.

Directions:

First, combine all ingredients to a food processor: frozen banana, raspberries, chia seeds, and almond milk.

Blend until there is a thick and creamy consistency. Note that if you want your smoothie bowl thicker, you’ll need to use a bit less liquid (use 2 tablespoons of almond milk instead of 3).

Next, pour your smoothie in a bowl and add all of your favorite toppings on top.
