Vegan Apple Pie Stovetop Oats

Apple and pumpkin are some of my favorite ingredients to use during the fall time, and since I’ve been sharing a lot of pumpkin recipes lately, I wanted to share this delicious recipe for apple pie stovetop oats. It’s made with cinnamon, maple syrup, and allspice, just to name a few ingredients.

As you probably know by now, I love oats in all forms: baked oatmeal, mug cakes, pancakes, waffles, etc. I recently made a chocolate pumpkin stovetop oatmeal recipe that turned out absolutely delicious, so I was inspired to make an apple pie stovetops recipe.

This recipe is warm, gooey, flavorful, and the perfect healthy sweet breakfast to make during the fall time. The ingredients I used in this recipe include quick oats (although you can also used rolled oats), cinnamon, allspice, unsweetened vanilla almond milk (any nut-milk will do), unsweetened applesauce, maple syrup, and diced apples. For toppings I added raw almond butter and additional apple pieces, but you can also add more maple syrup or cinnamon.

This is a single-serving breakfast recipe that can be made in less than 10 minutes. Prep your ingredients, add all of the ingredients in your pot, and cook it on low-medium heat for 8 minutes.

Ingredients

  • Rolled or Quick Oats: The first ingredient you need for this apple pie stovetop oats recipe is rolled or quick oats. Either one will work for this recipe, so it’s really up to you! I used quick oats because I typically buy quick oats over rolled oats, but rolled oats will also work.
  • Cinnamon: Next, you need 1/4 tsp of cinnamon. Cinnamon is the perfect spice to add to any apple recipe, and it adds the perfect hint of cinnamon to these apple pie oats.
  • Allspice: You also need allspice. Similar to cinnamon, allspice is a common spice used in apple recipes.
  • Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk: You also need a nut milk of your choice. I used unsweetened vanilla almond milk, but you can use any nut milk that you want. I prefer to use a nut milk because it adds creaminess to the oats, but feel free to use water as well.
  • Unsweetened Applesauce: To sweeten the oats, I used unsweetened applesauce. Applesauce is super sweet naturally, so it’s great to use whenever you’re making sweet recipes. It also adds a nice apple flavor to these apple pie stovetop oats.
  • Maple Syrup: In addition to applesauce, I used maple syrup for additional sweetness. The recipe calls for 1/2-1 tsp of maple syrup, but feel free to add more to make it even sweeter.
  • Diced Apples: Lastly, you need 1/4 cup of diced apples. Warmed up apples are super sweet and delicious, and it brings all the flavors together. You can also top your oats with additional apple pieces.
