Strawberry Banana Smoothie-3 Ingredients!

Strawberry Banana Smoothie-3 Ingredients!

Happy Monday! I know Monday’s can be rough, so hopefully this will brighten your day a little bit. I got back from my run this morning and was drenched in sweat after running in excruciating temperatures and high humidity. All I wanted during my run was a nice and refreshing smoothie to cool myself off. I strongly dislike running in the heat, but having a nice treat to look forward to makes it 10x better.

I use to drink smoothies all the time growing up, but it’s been a while. I would get them from a local smoothie shop and they were quite addicting to say the least. However, it’s been so long and I was eager to make a smoothie from scratch. The ones from my local smoothie shop are super delicious, but they can add up in price. That’s why I wanted to dedicate this post to my latest creation–my vegan strawberry-banana smoothie recipe.

It’s been a while since I’ve made a smoothie, so I thought that it was the perfect time to come up with a recipe for you all. I genuinely love smoothies, but I don’t make them that often. I seriously should though because after drinking this strawberry banana smoothie, it reminded me how much I love them!

I decided to make a strawberry banana smoothie because strawberry-banana smoothies are one of my all-time favorite smoothies. Thus, it was the perfect day to make a recipe for a strawberry-banana smoothie. It’s only three ingredients and has NO added sugar. I made this in less than five minutes and will be definitely be making this again asap. All you need are strawberries, bananas, and almond milk for this recipe. I try to make my recipes have few ingredients because simple recipes are the best.

Ingredients you’ll need:

1. Frozen Bananas

The first ingredient you’ll need is frozen bananas. I froze two bananas in the freezer and they were perfect for this smoothie.

2. Fresh Strawberries

You’ll also need 1 cup of fresh strawberries. Strawberries are in season right now, and they taste incredible in smoothies.

3. Almond Milk

Lastly, you’ll need 1/2 cup of almond milk, or a nut milk of your choice. You could also use water, but using a nut milk makes the smoothie creamier.

It’s a super hydrating and refreshing drink to make during the summer time, and I highly recommend trying this smoothie recipe out if you’re in need of a fun summertime treat that’s refreshing and will help cool you off in the heat.

I was a little worried it wouldn’t be too sweet because I didn’t add any sugar to it, but the 2:1 banana to strawberry ratio worked out in my favor. It had just the right amount of banana and strawberry in it. The banana-strawberry combination is like no other and cannot be beat! I know that most smoothies you get from smoothie shops have added sugar, but after making this recipe I realized that you really don’t need any added sugar. The natural sugar from the fruit alone makes the smoothie plenty sweet. Any more sugar would be overbearing and take away from the smoothie itself.

Final Thoughts

I personally love to add strawberries and pumpkin seeds on top of my smoothies, but feel free to add your favorite toppings. Go crazy and have fun with it! I like to add seeds and nuts on top for additional protein and nutrients, but you can add peanut butter, chocolate, or another fruit of your choice! Smoothies are so versatile and can be easily modified, and the toppings are the best part! Whenever I can add toppings to anything, I usually do.

I have been really into making more fruity desserts lately, so there will for sure be more smoothie recipes and smoothie bowls to come in the near future. This blog has been so much fun to make so far, and I’m just getting started.
