Vegan Chocolate Chip Baked Oats
Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog! I hope you are all having a fantastic day. In today’s post, I’m sharing how to make homemade chocolate chip baked oatmeal. This recipe is single serving, and it’s completely vegan and dairy-free. This recipe also calls for less than 10 ingredients.
If you’ve been keeping up with my blog, then you’ve probably seen a number of my other baked oats recipes. Baked oats are one of my favorite recipes to make because they’re so delicious and easy to make. If you’re craving chocolate in the mornings or want something sweet for breakfast, then this is the perfect recipe for you.
How Long Does This Recipe Take To Make?
Allow around 10 minutes for prep, 15 minutes to bake in the oven, and 5 minute for it to cool. Add your favorite toppings on top! I like adding a nut butter, banana slices, and additional chocolate chips.
How Many Servings Does This Recipe Make?
This is a single serving breakfast recipe for one. Feel free to double the recipe if you want to make enough for two people.

Ingredients
- Rolled Oats: The first ingredient you need to make this baked oats recipe is rolled oats. Blend your rolled oats (instant oats will work as well) in a blender or NutriBullet to form a flour-like consistency. Rolled oats are super inexpensive and it’s one of my baking essentials.
- Unsweetened Cocoa Powder: The next ingredient you need to make this delicious chocolate chip baked oatmeal is unsweetened cocoa powder. I used Hershey’s unsweetened cocoa powder, but you can use any cocoa powder you’d like (you can even use a sweetened cocoa powder). Cocoa powder is one of my go-to ingredients when I’m making a chocolate flavored recipe because cocoa powder has a strong chocolate flavor.
- Baking Powder: You also need 1/4 tsp of baking powder. Baking powder helps the baked oats rise.
- Pure Maple Syrup: Next, you need pure maple syrup. You need 2 tsp of pure maple syrup to make the baked oats a little bit sweeter. I don’t always add a sweetener to my breakfast recipes, however, a sweetener is needed if you’re using unsweetened cocoa powder because it has a very bitter taste. I really like using maple syrup because it’s a natural sweetener and it’s also super sweet, so you don’t need to use much.
- Nut Milk: You also need a nut milk of your choice. I like using almond milk to make the baked oats creamier, but you could use water as well. I used unsweetened vanilla almond milk, but feel free to use your favorite plant-based milk. Some of my other favorite plant-based milks are soy milk, silk milk, and oat milk.
- Banana: Next, you need 1/2 of a ripe banana. I love adding banana to my baked oats because it adds sweetness and gives the baked oats the perfect texture.
- Vegan Dark Chocolate Chips: The last ingredient you need is vegan chocolate chips. Since these are chocolate chip baked oats, chocolate chips are a necessity. You can buy vegan chocolate chips at pretty much every grocery store, and they’re pretty inexpensive. I really like baking the chocolate chips in the baked oats so that they melt, but you could always sprinkle a few on top after you’ve baked your oats. Or, add some chocolate chips in the batter and sprinkle some on top after it bakes.
