5 Quick & Easy Vegan Snacks

5 Quick & Easy Vegan Snacks

I love snacks, so I decided to throw together some of my favorite vegan snacks that are easy to make when you’re crunched on time and want to make something that is healthy and nutritious.

I’m a big snacker. I love making snacks to bring on the go to work and school. When I was younger, I was involved in numerous sports and extracurricular activities, and I always had to bring snacks wherever I went. I usually would grab a protein bar or bag of chips, but they aren’t the healthiest snacks to bring.

So, I thought it was fitting to make a post dedicated to simple snacks you can make to bring different places that are actually healthy. I love protein bars and chips on occasion, but when I want to eat a healthier snack, I’ll usually make it myself as opposed to bringing a pre-packaged good.

Let’s get into some of my favorite vegan snacks to make!

1. Homemade Baked French Fries

I genuinely love French fries and make them quite often. What I love about them is that they’re really easy to make and don’t take too long to bake in the oven. All you do is throw some spices on them and pop them in the oven. It’s that easy!

It’s a snack I often make when I’m in the mood for something salty. While I typically gravitate towards sweet snacks, fries are my go-to if I’m craving something more savory.

Potatoes are rich in healthy carbs and have numerous health benefits. I know people who are short on time often grab a granola bar or bag of chips, but if you take a few extra minutes to meal prep–or in this case, “snack prep,” you’ll have snacks that you can bring on the go that are healthy. I’m all about promoting a healthy lifestyle, and I believe that making small changes can make a world of a difference.

Check out my recipe for making these homemade chunky potato fries.

Ingredients you’ll need:

1. Potatoes

2. Garlic Powder

3. Onion Powder

4. Paprika

5. Pepper

2. Homemade Sweet Potato Fries

Continuing with the fry trend, if you haven’t made sweet potato fries before, you’re missing out. They’re seriously super yummy and I sometimes prefer to make sweet potato fries over traditional French fries. This is another recipe that is super healthy and simple, and requires little prep time. The recipe calls for spices only. All you have to do is let them bake in the oven until they’re nice and crispy.

These fries are also oil-free, so they are immensely healthier than French fries you would get at a grocery store or at a restaurant. Sweet potatoes are a nutritious food that I highly recommend incorporating into your diet.

Try making my sweet potato fries and let me know what you think!

Ingredients you’ll need:

1. Sweet Potatoes

2. Garlic Powder

3. Onion Powder

4. Cumin

5. Pepper

3. Chips & Guac

I may be biased, but in my opinion, chips & guac is one of the best combinations to exist. It’s salty, flavorful, and fully satisfying. This healthy guacamole is a recipe on my blog, so feel free to check it out!

The key to making the perfect guacamole is the lime juice. I’ve made it both with and without lime juice and it’s way better when you add the lime in. It gives it more flavor and tastes better than guac you would get at a restaurant.

Ingredients you’ll need:

1. Avocados

2. Onion

3. Tomato

4. Lime Juice

5. Garlic Powder

6. Basil Flakes to Garnish

4. Peanut Butter Chocolate Date Bites

Along with the savory snacks, I had to throw in a few of my favorite sweet snacks. This first one is peanut butter chocolate date bites, which is a recipe I have on my blog. This dessert is super delicious and only sweetened by using dates, which is a fruit I use in a number of my recipes. That means that there is absolutely NO added sugar in this recipe.

These date bites stay good for days and are a perfect snack/dessert to prep for the week. I like to make a batch over the weekend so I have them ready to go during the week when I’m busy. They’re also no-bake, so you don’t have to wait for them to bake in the oven. I prefer them chilled, but you can eat them without chilling them as well. It ‘s really up to you!

Ingredients you’ll need:

1. Cocoa Powder

2. Chia Seeds

3. Peanut Butter

4. Pitted Dates

5. Vegan Chocolate Chips

5. Peanut Butter Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies

Last but not least, we have a personal favorite of mine: peanut butter chocolate chip oatmeal cookies. The recipe is up on my blog, so feel free to check it out! While this is a dessert recipe, I decided to include it because these peanut butter chocolate chip oatmeal cookies have very low sugar and are made with natural ingredients.

This recipe is also very time-efficient. These cookies have a bake time of only 12 minutes, so it’s a dessert you can make in under 20 minutes including the prep time. If you like peanut butter and chocolate as much as I do, then you will absolutely love these cookies. They’re so gooey and delicious!

Ingredients you’ll need:

1. Rolled Oats

2. Bananas

3. Peanut Butter

4. Almond Milk

5. Maple Syrup

6. Vanilla Extract

7. Vegan Chocolate Chips

Here’s some of my favorite vegan alternatives:

1. Orgain Creamy Chocolate Fudge Protein Powder

2. Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip No Cow Bar

3. Lenny & Larry’s Cookie
