I recently made vegan cake batter protein bites, and because they turned out so good, I was inspired to make a similar recipe for chocolate peanut butter protein bites.

These protein bites are the perfect treat to have post-workout or while you’re at work. It’s a quick and easy recipe to make, and they don’t need to be baked–they can be enjoyed as is. Wait for them to chill in the fridge for about twenty minutes and enjoy!

Ingredients

  • Rolled Oats: The first ingredient you need to make these delicious vegan chocolate peanut butter protein bites is rolled oats. This recipe calls for 1 cup rolled oats.
  • Peanut Butter: The next ingredient you need is creamy peanut butter. My favorite peanut butters are Krema and Smucker’s Creamy Natural Peanut Butter.
  • Chocolate Protein Powder: The next ingredient you need is your favorite chocolate protein powder. I used Orgain’s chocolate peanut butter protein powder, but any chocolate protein powder will work. This recipe calls for 1 scoop of chocolate protein powder.
  • Maple Syrup: The next ingredient is maple syrup. Maple syrup is super sweet and one of my favorite sweeteners to use in my dessert recipes.
  • Mini Chocolate Chips: The next ingredient you need is mini chocolate chips. The chocolate chips add a bit of sweetness. My favorite vegan chocolate chips are Enjoy Life’s mini chocolate chips and Lilly’s chocolate chips. This recipe calls for 1 tbsp chocolate chips, but feel free to use as many as you’d like!
  • Vanilla Extract: You also need 1/2 tsp vanilla extract.
  • Almond Milk: The last ingredient you need to make these vegan chocolate protein bites is almond milk, or a plant-based milk alternative. I used unsweetened vanilla almond milk.

Directions

First, combine all the dry ingredients in one bowl: rolled oats, peanut butter, chocolate protein powder (or chocolate protein powder), and mini chocolate chips.

Then, combine all the wet ingredients in a separate bowl: peanut butter, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and almond milk.

Next, combine the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until it’s thoroughly combined.

Roll the mixture into thirteen protein bites.

Place protein bites on a plate and chill in the fridge for twenty minutes.

Enjoy!
