Vegan Apple Cinnamon Baked Oats
Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog! Tis’ the season for apple, cinnamon, and pumpkin-flavored treats. I’m so excited that it’s fall time because the weather is nice and it’s the BEST time to bake in my opinion. There will be soo many fun and fresh recipes this fall season, so be sure you’re subscribed to my blog so you don’t miss them. I also post tons of recipes on my other socials, so check out them as well.
Apples are one of my favorite fruits, and so I was inspired to make another baked oats recipe that’s apple flavored. Apples, cinnamon, and maple syrup is an incredible concoction, and I knew that it would be the perfect warm and cozy fall breakfast.
I drizzled some pure maple syrup on top as well as some walnut pieces, and it was the perfect filling and sweet breakfast. You could also add peanut butter or nut butter. This is the perfect quick and easy breakfast to make when you’re short on time. It only takes around 25 minutes to bake in the oven.
How Long Does This Recipe Take To Make?
This recipe takes around 10 minutes to prep the ingredients, 25 minutes for it to bake in the oven, and 5-10 minutes for it to cool. In total, it takes about 40-45 minutes to make this recipe.
Ingredients
- Rolled Oats: The first ingredient you need to make these apple cinnamon baked oats is rolled oats. I actually used instant oats because you’ll be blending all of the ingredients together, so you can use either rolled or instant oats.
- Cinnamon: Next, you need cinnamon. As you probably know, I love cinnamon. It has a very strong flavor and makes any recipe more flavorful. I used Ceylon cinnamon that I bought from the grocery store, and I added even more cinnamon on top after the baked oats baked in the oven.
- Unsweetened Applesauce: Next, you need unsweetened applesauce. You could also use a sweetened applesauce, but applesauce is already super sweet on its own which is why I decided to use unsweetened applesauce. It’s also an easy way to reduce the added sugar in recipes by opting to use more natural ingredients with less added sugar. Applesauce helps make the baked oats sweeter and moist, which is exactly what you want when you’re making baked oats.
- Nut Milk: The next ingredient you need is a nut milk of your choice. It makes the baked oats creamier, and I highly recommend using a nut milk. I used unsweetened vanilla almond milk, but you can use any plant-based milk of your choice.
- Chopped Apples: Next, you need chopped apples. I chopped up an apple into tiny pieces and folded them into my oat batter. This helps make them warm and gooey once you’ve cooked your baked oats in the oven. I also added a few more apple pieces on top.
- Walnut Pieces: For the topping, I sprinkled some crushed walnut pieces on top. I love adding nuts to oat recipes, especially walnuts because they’re highly nutritious. Walnuts are also one of my favorite nuts, and they’re the perfect topping for sweet breakfast recipes.
- Pure Maple Syrup: This last ingredient is optional, but I highly recommend it. I added 1 tsp of pure maple syrup and it was the icing on the cake. Maple syrup is really sweet and along with the cinnamon, apples, and walnuts, it makes the perfect warm and gooey apple cinnamon baked oats breakfast.
