Vanilla Strawberry Protein Oats

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog! I’m super excited to share this recipe with you all. Today’s recipe is for strawberry vanilla protein oats. It’s a single-serving breakfast that takes less than five minutes to make, and it’s such a yummy and delicious breakfast to have in the morning.

I don’t always add protein powder to my breakfasts in the mornings, but when I do, I often add it in my oats. I really like oats mixed with protein powder, and it’s an easy way to add protein to your breakfast.

I used my Simple Orgain Plant Protein Powder in Creamy Vanilla for this recipe. It’s one of my favorite vegan protein powders and it tastes delicious in oatmeal.

Ingredients

  • Rolled or Instant Oats: The first ingredient you need to make this delicious strawberry vanilla oats recipe is rolled or instant oats. I prefer instant oats because they only take around 60 seconds to cook in the microwave. Oats are one of my favorite ingredients to use in recipes because they’re very affordable. If you’re a college student, recent college graduate, or someone whose simply looking to save money on food, having a few key ingredients that are inexpensive like rolled oats is an easy way to save money on groceries. A large container of rolled/instant oats costs just a few dollars, and it lasts multiple weeks. Oats are also rich in carbs and keep you full for long periods of time. It’s a breakfast that I have almost everyday because it’s so tasty, and you can switch up the flavors and add different toppings as well.
  • Simple Orgain Plant Protein Powder in Creamy Vanilla: The next ingredient you need is vanilla protein powder. I used Orgain’s simple plant protein powder in creamy vanilla, which is vegan and incredibly delicious. It’s my absolute favorite vegan protein powder, and the only protein powder that I use. Orgain also have a few other flavors of protein powder that are vegan that I really like as well, including creamy chocolate fudge and chocolate peanut butter cup. Their protein powders don’t have a chalky taste or protein powder aftertaste, which is one of the main reasons I love their protein powders so much. They’re also just super tasty! You can get this protein powder in a variety of places, including Amazon, and it’s great to add to your smoothies, pancakes, waffles, oatmeal, and shakes.
  • Fresh Strawberries: You also need fresh strawberries. I got my strawberries at a farmers market, but you can use store-bought strawberries as well. A fun summer activity is to go strawberry or apple picking! Fruit always tastes so fresh and delicious during the summertime, and it’s a perfect healthy snack to have as well.
  • Cinnamon: The next ingredient you need is cinnamon. I used a dash of cinnamon in my oatmeal, and it’s one of my staples for breakfast and dessert recipes. Cinnamon is nutritious, and it’s a great spice to add to your meals to make them more flavorful.
  • Nut Milk: The last ingredient you need is a nut milk of your choice. I used unsweetened vanilla almond milk for this recipe, but you could also use soy milk, silk milk, oat milk, or another plant-based milk. I used almond milk instead of water to make my oats creamier, but you can use water as well. You could also used a sweetened plant-based milk if you want your oats sweeter.

Toppings

  • Creamy Salted Peanut Butter: One of my favorite toppings for oatmeal is creamy salted peanut butter. Peanut butter is high in protein and it’s also just one of my favorite foods. I like to add it to my oats to make my breakfast more filling, and it goes well with these vanilla strawberry protein oats.
  • Pure Maple Syrup (Optional): You can also add pure maple syrup if you want to add sweetness to your oatmeal. This topping is optional.
