Easy Avocado Toast

Easy Avocado Toast

How to make avocado toast the right way. Now I know you’re probably wondering why I made a recipe for avocado toast. Throw some avocado on toast and call it a day, right? Wrong. While there are endless ways to make avocado toast, I have found the best concoction there is. It requires two ingredients that will enhance your avocado toast.

I never use to eat avocado toast when I was younger, but I have recently started eating it and really like it. Green foods can taste good in addition to being healthy!

Avocado toast is a great meal to make for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. You can never go wrong with avocado toast. It’s a staple in my diet, and one of the easiest meals you can throw together in less than five minutes.

It’s also a very nutritious meal to make. If you’re looking for healthier meal ideas, avocado toast is a great place to start.

It’s a super simple recipe and one of the breakfasts that I have multiple times a week. If I’m crunched on time, I often have toast because it’s filling, easy to make, and is nutritious. What else could I ask for?

Why you should make it at home

I’ve been to a number of breakfast places that sell avocado toast for $10 or more. That’s insane for a piece of toast with some avocado on it. They really inflate the price of toast at restaurants when you can make it yourself for a fraction of the price.

All you need are some ripe avocados, pumpkin seeds, whole wheat toast, and everything but the bagel seasoning. It won’t cost you much at all to make your avocado toast at home.

How long does it take to make?

The great thing about making avocado toast is that it takes no time at all to make. You can whip up avocado toast in less than five minutes. As long as you have some nice ripe avocados, it should take you no time at all to make a 5-star avocado toast.

Ingredients you’ll need for this recipe:

1. Whole Wheat Toast

The first ingredient you’ll need to make the avocado toast is your bread of choice. I personally like to use whole wheat toast because it’s healthier than white bread, but you can use any bread you like.

The two breads I often use are either Nature’s Own Whole Wheat Bread or Dave’s Killer Bread. They’re both super yummy and healthy, so if you’re looking for a new whole wheat toast to try out, I recommend trying out either of these.

Dave’s Killer Bread is a little bit more expensive than the Nature’s Own, but it’s also really healthy. It’s a bread made with different nuts and seeds that have numerous health benefits.

2. Avocados

Up next is avocados. The key to making avocado toast is having nice and ripe avocados. If your avocados are hard, your avocado toast won’t taste very good. The goal is to use avocados that are squishy. The squishy avocados always taste the best and make for great avocado toast.

For once slice of bread you only need about a half of an avocado, so if you’re going to have two slices, you might need to use a whole avocado. It’s really up to you how much avocado you want on each piece of bread. I really like a lot of avocado, so I use quite a lot.

3. Pumpkin Seeds

The next ingredient you’ll need is pumpkin seeds. I don’t know what it is about pumpkin seeds, but they really are necessary for making avocado toast. They’re crunchy and make the toast 10x better.

Fall is just around the corner, so anything pumpkin-flavored is right up my alley. Pumpkin seeds are super healthy and the perfect topping for avocado toast.

Pumpkin seeds are crunchy and really take your avocado toast to a whole new level. If you haven’t ever had avocado with pumpkin seeds, you’ve truly been missing out.

4. Everything but the Bagel Seasoning

The last ingredient you’ll need for this avocado toast is everything but the bagel seasoning from Trader Joe’s. This is the magic touch. It’s a really delicious seasoning that is flavorful and sold at Trader Joe’s. If you don’t live near one, you might not be able to get it.

However, if you’re able to get your hands on it, I recommend you doing so. It takes the avocado toast to a whole new level. It’s truly the secret ingredient.  It’s seriously the best seasoning I have ever had, and I put it on pretty much everything. It’s a little bit salty and tastes like an everything bagel.

5. Tomatoes (Optional)

You can also throw some tomatoes on your avocado toast if you want additional nutrients. I don’t have tomatoes as an ingredient in my avocado toast recipe, but I add tomatoes on my avocado toast from time to time–it really just depends if I’m in the mood for tomatoes or not.

You can use the baby cherry tomatoes or a regular tomato. If I add tomatoes to my avocado toast, I often add the cherry tomatoes because they’re small and easy to slice up. It’s another inexpensive ingredient you can easily add to make it better.
