Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog! I just got back from my weekly grocery shopping trip, so I thought that I would share some of my favorite grocery finds from Aldi and Trader Joe’s! These are my go-to grocery stores to go to because they’re affordable and in close proximity.

If you have a Trader Joe’s or Aldi near you, I highly recommend checking out either of them. They have some really yummy food for cheap, which is great for college students, recent college graduates, or anyone looking to save money on groceries.

I always spend under $50 on groceries, and I do that by shopping mostly produce, using coupons, and going to grocery stores that have affordable groceries. Here are some of my favorite grocery finds from Aldi and Trader Joe’s as of lately!

SOME OF MY FAVORITE PRODUCTS!

1. NutriBullet Pro Blender

2. Orgain Organic Plant-Based Protein Powder Creamy Chocolate Fudge

3. Dash Mini Pancake Maker

Aldi

1. Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk

This first item is unsweetened vanilla almond milk. I picked up 3 of these (yes three!) because I use nut milk in a lot of my recipes, and so I go through it pretty quickly. I add it to smoothies, smoothie bowls, baked oats recipes, and dessert recipes, so I like to stock up whenever I go to Aldi because it’s super inexpensive.

This unsweetened vanilla almond milk costs between $1.49 and $1.69, depending on whether it’s on sale or not. However, this is the cheapest I’ve ever found almond milk, and they also have other flavors. They sell vanilla and original, and they might have others as well!

2. Red Grapes

This next item is red grapes, and the reason it’s on this list is because when they’re on sale at Aldi, they’re SO cheap. I bought these grapes for $0.85 per pound, which is really inexpensive. And I absolutely love grapes to have as a snack throughout the week and to bring to work, so I always grab a bag of red grapes when they’re on sale.

3. Sourdough Bread

This next item I recently discovered, and it’s sourdough bread. This bread only has three ingredients (flour, water, and salt), and it’s a really tasty sourdough bread. It comes in a large loaf for under $4, and you can freeze some of it to save for a later time.

Sourdough bread is one of my favorite breads to make avocado toast and peanut butter banana toast with, and it’s a healthier bread to buy. I don’t eat bread too often, but when I do, I tend to grab a slice of sourdough bread.

4. Roasted Pine Nut Hummus

This roasted pine nut hummus from Aldi is my absolute favorite hummus I’ve ever had. And, it’s only around $1.49-$1.69 (depending on whether or not it’s on sale). It’s a great ingredient to add to nourish bowls, toast, sweet potatoes, and potatoes.

I use hummus a lot as a dressing or a dipping sauce instead of salad dressings, and it makes the perfect tasty topping.

Trader Joe’s

1. Organic Whole Wheat Fusilli Pasta

Let’s talk about this organic whole wheat fusilli pasta from Trader Joe’s. I know it’s just pasta, but I’m a sucker for this whole wheat pasta. It’s $1.49 from Trader Joe’s, and it’s my favorite pasta brand to buy. I recently tried this out and have been buying it ever since.

Pasta is one of my go-to meals to eat as a vegan, and I’ll add some tofu and veggies with it to make a nutritious meal. Trader Joe’s also has some great pasta sauce options, but I prefer to add olive oil or hummus to my pasta.

2. Organic Sprouted Tofu

As a vegan, I like to eat tofu because it’s rich in protein. This is one of my favorite tofus to buy because it’s organic and super tasty. This costs only $1.99, and it’s a great source of protein.

3. Nutritional Yeast

Nutritional yeast is rich in vitamin B12, and it’s something that I always add to my lunches/dinners. It’s a cheesy alternative to traditional cheese, and it’s also really flavorful. You can purchase nutritional yeast for $2.99.

4. Raw California Walnut Halves & Pieces

I haven’t been buying a lot of nuts lately, but because walnuts are so good for you, I thought I’d pick up this bag of walnut pieces/halves. Walnuts are great to add to salads, baked oats, and dessert recipes, and this was relatively inexpensive. This large bag only cost $4.99, and it should last a while.

5. Cruciferous Crunch

My last Trader Joe’s find is this cruciferous crunch salad mixture. I love vegetables and this salad mixture is jam packed with kale, brussel sprouts, broccoli, green cabbage, and red cabbage. This is my go-to salad mixture to use to make my potato salads, and it’s a great way to get your greens in. This salad mixture costs $2.49 at Trader Joe’s.

Final Thoughts

Trader Joe’s and Aldi carry some really yummy food for cheap. These are my go-to grocery stores to go to because they always have what I’m looking for. I look forward to grocery shopping because I love stocking up on all of my favorite foods for the week. I create a list of everything I need beforehand so that I don’t forget anything or buy things that I don’t need, and I always manage to stay within my budget.
