Tofu is one of my favorite foods to eat, and it’s also a great source of protein. As someone who follows a vegan, plant-based diet, I always try to incorporate different protein sources into my meals. I personally love tofu, and if you haven’t had tofu before, it’s a white block that has a squishy texture.

Tofu isn’t a food that everyone likes, but if you haven’t tried making this recipe yet, then you definitely need to make this recipe before deciding if you like tofu or not. Making tofu the right way is key in making it flavorful and tasty.

As I previously mentioned, tofu is a great source of protein, which is one of the reasons I love it so much. It’s great added in salads, pasta, nourish bowls, and on top of avocado toast. I use tofu as a substitute for meat, and it’s also really delicious on its own.

This recipe yields two servings and only calls for three ingredients. Some of the best recipes are short and sweet, and this recipe is one of those. Not all great recipes have to be incredibly complex and use tons of ingredients. In fact, most of my favorite recipes I’ve ever created are the simple ones that are easy to make. This tofu recipe is definitely one of my new favorites.

In order to make this recipe, you’ll need to cook the tofu in the oven at 350° for 15 minutes on each side, for a total of 30 minutes. Although this recipe does take a bit of time to cook in the oven, the prep time is minimal. Set aside a half hour block at some point during your day to make this savory oven baked tofu. You can meal prep it and have it ready to go as a protein source for throughout the week. I keep it in a sealed container so I can easily add it to my meals throughout the week.

I served this tofu with rice and broccoli, but you can truly throw it into any dish you’d like. With that being said, it was incredibly delicious paired with the rice and broccoli, so you may want to try the tofu this way as well.

Ingredients You’ll Need:

  • Tofu: The main ingredient you’ll need for this recipe is tofu. You’ll need around 7.75 oz, which yields about two servings. I used extra firm tofu and cut the tofu into small cubes before placing them on the baking pan.
  • Olive Oil: Next, you’ll need 2 tsp of olive oil. I don’t always use olive oil in my recipes, and I often don’t use a lot of it. However, a little bit of olive oil can make a world of a difference. You don’t need to use a lot of olive oil to add flavor to the tofu. 2 tsp of olive oil is plenty for this recipe. It makes the tofu crispy and adds a nice flavor.
  • Liquid Aminos: The final ingredient you’ll need to make this tasty savory oven baked tofu dish is liquid aminos. Liquid aminos is similar to soy sauce and it’s extremely salty. You don’t need a lot of liquid aminos for this recipe because of how salty it is. This recipe calls for 1 tsp of liquid aminos, which I think makes the dish salty enough, however, if you want the tofu to be extra salty, feel free to add an additional tsp.
